Thats what I was trying to say to you soulkiss
Shame you had the usual wet front plug problem. Lucky it didn't slow you down earlier.

You may now need to get a new plug if you ran it that far on one.

I spray WD40 into the front pot using the drain hole. Usually lots of crap comes out that might potentially block the drain hole.

Think you guys are being too kind to me....I know how slow and wobbly I really am....but I feel that I am getting better and more confident too.

Anyway, just giving my bike a once over this morning....looks like I need a new rear tyre. Front looks fine, so do I replace just the rear or both together. I assume it's not a good idea to mix tyres on a bike, so another Sportmax it is then or can you suggest something else. I use the old girl for 300 commuting miles a week, plus a little weekend fun.

Depends on the life left in the front tbh - how many miles did you get out of the rear against how many you think might be left in the front?

My front is wearing not far behind me rear so I will replace both together.

Shame you didn't show us your tyres yesterday BBD, that way you could have 10 different opinions.

Like Skip says, how much is there left in the front.? It might look ok but is it rippled or ridged?

The Contis like Skip has are supposed to be good and we've got on PR2's. A lot depends on what deal you can get your tyre guy.

Thanks pete, I went and ordered a fender extender today, they'll have it in the next few days so thats a start, I'll go and do the WD40 thing in a bit. I've done 46.1miles on one cylinder.. not ideal but I wasn't going to push the c*nt home! Heard some knocking or clunking from the rear cylinder (i think) when I was 5 minutes from home.. I started it up in the shed today, it took some convincing, but I ran it in there with the doors open for 20 minutes and it seems a good bit better, firing on both again. Not to mention it was nice and warm in the shed

I also checked my rear this morning (oo-err) and it seems I also need a new rear. I'm going for the option of changing both if funds allow me to, mainly because I'm running the standard D220's. So I'm also open for suggestions.

I did wonder why I had loads of grip in the dry, but not so much in the wet, it's because of the racing slick it's now become.

Rear has a fine 20mm split/cut in it and is showning the belt. Looks like one of those hares tried to take a bit of it.

Front looks good, think it will be just the rear, then change them both for something different next time.
