this is true I'm afraid. For Pearl Lively yellow, you have to put on a white basecoat, some very thin layers of the colour which is a mica,

Mica
A naturally occurring mineral, based on silica, which after treatment, is used as an effect pigment in coatings. Their special property is that light falling on a mica particle, depending on the angle of illumination, reflects the light with a change in colour. Because of this they are sometimes referred to as pearls.
Alternate Term(s): Pearl

then the top coat laquer. Try touching it up, its a flippin nightmare

The touch ups are bloody hard work, tried it last year, but your spraying it aren't you?
As long as you do it in very thin layers and take your time, you could do fine.
IIRC with the info i got with my paint last year, its best to do it at above 15 degrees or summat, they don't so so well spraying in the cold.
Make sure you leave plenty of time in between too.

Could also be talkin a load of old cobbles too

Yeah I've got an oil filled radiator to keep the temp up in the garage. If it's like spraying out else let it tack off between each layer.

but this is where I got my paint from, they do a lot of work for my local dealers, so they pretty much know their onions. Sure if you get stuck you could give em a ring they were very helpful when I rang em

They've just said send it back to him (and pay for it to be sent) and they'll refund me the purchase price and postage on its way here. Not sure if I want to spend £5 returnig it to this pillock and then waiting for another cowl to appear on ebay then **** about and be dissapointed. I'm having a load of stuff sprayed so to do the cowl too isn't going to be a massive proble,. grr I dunno what to do. I really want to inconvenience this guy though.
