When I have been in the house garage I have used a rachet strap round the outer casing to compress the tyre on the rim partially and it has gone on.This tends to force the bead outwards just enough for it to pop into place ,then inflate as normal, but as you say a blast from a high pressure compressor will do it failing this method.

If you can get wheel over to my work (Firstbus garage on leeds road near macdonalds)in huddersfield you can try our air lines which are set at 120psi. I do my own at work and they always just pop on. In fact I am putting another supercorsa on tonight I bought of mr messy last night. I am on a late shift and gaffers will be gone from 6 onwards. give me a bell if any good 07980745907 if you dont have my number anymore

Thanks very much for the offer mate, sorry I'm off down to Wales today though. May well take you up on it next week though?

Normally this works a treat, but didn't on this one

" set at 120psi " . . and leave it at that - think of the mpg you'd get!

Are you bringing this Leviathon to the GM if you can get the tyres on it?

Well he was going to fail it because the cable ties holding the clocks on don't match but I showed him the rust inside the tank and he let me off
Got an advisory for lack of rust on the exhaust and not enough cracks in the tyres though

Overall it actually rides and goes far better than such a knacker has right to, the empty shocks don't seem to make much difference. Must be the oil I put on the hinge in the frame. Pretty nice comfy, characterful torquey beast TBH, feels a lot lighter than the divvy 9 too.
