Doesn't sound like fun to me! 40km? That's MILES!

I got a Kona Stuff 2-4 with the edition of 40T single speed DH crank with DMR chain guide. 206mm 4pot avid front brake for extra stopping power (my god it stops!!!!!), can you believe that they make these callipers, there are some 6 pots about too

Its basically that but as said different crank setup and different front brake.
That 203mm Avid code will snap those forks if your not careful!

Heh, I couldn't even do it once. Unless it were all flat.

The internals are made by SR Suntour.

The maximum recommended disc size for those is 185mm due to the power being put through a non 20mm bolt through.

Ah bereight, its not on a quick release, its on a bolt and NUTS (sorry shout it) so that should help.

I know the internals are Carp though

Im wanting some better ones, some marzocchi 666's would be ace but they are a LOT expensive. Sigh. What are the rockshox like these days for freeriding/downhilling?

Quite pleased with myself... Got down to Glentress again yesterday, I didn't exactly cover myself in glory last time- got one loop of the blues done in the morning but then totally flaked out in the afternoon and barely made it back to the trailhead never mind the trails Then died, basically.

So, this time, I said "Lets try a red". So we did. And then some more. And then did the full spooky wood climb right to the top of the centre, and then aaaaalll the way back down. I really didn't think I'd be capable of that- both from a stamina/strength point of view but also maybe from a skill point of view. I took quite a lot of chicken runs though Snow on the top descent as well, lovely. I'm still worn out today but I made it round without collapsing or crashing, unlike my mate Matt who was dying all day, and Chris who managed to crash for no reason at all on Magic Mushroom (doubly amusing since he helped build it), On the downside, due to bad preperation I had almost no rear brake pad and wore right through to the metal, schoolboy error but no real damage done.

Hardly the stuff of legend but for me it's a result... I did eyeball some blacks and came to the general conclusion that there is NO WAY IN HELL I'm doing any of that, nossir. Then again, a lot of the red looked quite alarming when I was looking up it after riding it.
