I think its best just to leave his account alone. If he is / was who he said he was then any fiddling with his profile by one of the admin team is going to be seen as being very disrespectful.

When the original RIP thread was posted, and people were asking for info I rang a colleague who is retired from the forces but lives in Cheltenham and still has 'contacts.'

"No SBS KIA that day, or around that day anywhere in the world, including any shadey visits to the creeks inhabited by Somalian pirates." "And no whispers about anything either."

Having took the original Rip story at face value he/we thought that perhaps all the info wasn't in and therefore still hush hush. Now it appears to be a different story altogether.

As someone else said, "be careful who you meet where."

Regards death by natural causes, Becks said he would get a full military burial, would you get that if you died of natural causes whilst serving?

Foot for though.. Been looking through old threads.
Geoffery is the guy who can confirm and deny this I think.
He has spoke to Beck's on the phone, but I don't know about DD.
And DD said he was ex-SF in the same thread.
More info added.

Not sure yet, he was apprehended. I am an angry man apparently (ex-SF and witnessed a few horrible things plus two huge accidents haven't made me cheerful) so it was a good job I was unconscious so i couldn't vent out any anger.

The myths and legends of the SAS are just that, the hype that surrounds 22 Regiment is unbelievable. They are not universal soldiers as some believe, they are regular soldiers who then follow a one way training regime to specialise in one particular form of warfare. The SAS has four squadrons which each specialise in certain fields, they also have a terrible operational record with countless failures. Do not get me wrong they do perform the task and role they are given, however, you only hear of their successes. Before anybody asks ‘Bravo 20’ was designated a success, the return of several operatives in the harsh conditions they faced made this a success gone wrong.

I served several years in the British Special Boat Service (SBS), we are a division off of the Royal Marines (RM) who are already famous for there methods of training and their actions in war zones throughout their history. To qualify you need two years RM service and at least two combat tours, unlike the SAS where you need only pass the induction course stages. The British SBS train constantly; we are the true British multi-role Special Forces in active duty at the moment. We operate mainly by sea borne activities, although we are trained in land based Counter Terrorism and have been frequently called into British Cities under terror alert.

I hope this will stop the PM’s I have received so far, this is not a boast of any way and I do not wish to talk about my roles and activities whilst in active service. I am proud to have actively served in the British Special Boat Service, I am proud to have served alongside the greatest fighting men in modern history. I hope the memories held by the family and friends of the fallen will always remain strong in there hearts.

The secretiveness off our duties will always remain that, our methods of working appear brute force and arrogant to the public eye. In some roles we do not get time to think, I will admit that, but our intentions are good.

A lot of ex-forces struggle for employment, I think Geoff on here took 6 months to find a job after leaving the RAF. I believe it is down to mental strength and the will to move on that some struggle with, no offence Geoff.

Peter Henry, aka, Pedrosa . Nice guy though, so it won't be him in all seriousness, but he used to post a lot, and has several identities and liked to tease people a bit.

Hmm, I seem to recall PH saying somewhere he was an ex Royal Marine. Maybe, just maybe Camilla has been playing with us again

Edit, found his post to that effect here

Reading that snippet from DD makes me think he wasn't so fake. He said he had served in the SBS. Past tense. One of my closest mates dad's was in the SAS for some years and does on occasion talk about various exploits (usually the daft things that had happened). I dunno, it just seems like a really harsh thing for someone to make up. If DD has passed away by natural means outside of the service of his country, I would feel terrible for even questioning his integrity.

Again, all very confusing. Becks, come and tell us all that we were wrong.

Either way, RIP DD.
