Re: Vintage film cameras
They've come out nicely considering it's low light and no flash. You got a really rich red on the train and overall clarity is good. What lens did you go with?

Its the Minolta Rokkor f1.7 you sent down. Lomography 400iso colour film, +2 exposure compensation.

Re: Vintage film cameras
The 50mm f1.7 is an underrated little lens - or it used to be. Prices on those seem to be creeping up too.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I decided to put the Canonet more or less back together. OMG I don't ever want to do that again. It's not all right but who cares as it doesn't work. It's a Copal SV shutter which is the same designation as the Konica but the Canonet is a later one, and is even more of a nachtmare. Getting the shutter and aperture blades out was actually fairly easy, getting into it to reach that point was a swine.
Contessa - know what you mean, am hoping to go to Spain next year on a bike trip so am forfeiting Xmas and birthday presents, but TBH last year I had such a rubbish birthday (and I'm not being a diva about it, believe me) that I might just do it anyway. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Found a bit of time to look at my Olympus S. Meter is working properly now, though there is still a bit of wobble in the lens barrel. Seems many Copal shutters are a bit wobbly, but it's just the aperture/speed etc. rings. This one also has a wobble from the focus helix at the base though. I think I'd need to peel off the covering to get to the base plate, it's well glued on and can't be bothered just now, at least the rest is all done.
One shot left in the Certo and only about 4 in the Konica! |

Re: Vintage film cameras
So Kenzie, you're right, I did
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152232016761 The pics with the meter flap open were added after I emailed them about it to see if it worked. Considering it's indoors it looks like a good response from the needle. I also asked about the rangefinder and they tried to take photos through the viewfinder, which didn't work so well. I've tried this before and I know it's hard. The spot was bright however so again a good indication. And finally I sold another thing for £4 last night so the money is dribbling in, so I said why not. I don't yet know anything about the lens or shutter condition but these were well made and nearly everything is fixable! Last edited by johnnyrod; 13-09-16 at 08:40 PM. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Didn't think you could resist! Have seen a few listed at the moment that I wouldn't mind. Want a Kodak Hawkeye Flash and one has just come up in a job lot.
