Re: Official rain thread
No rain here (in Macclesfield) ... but the Peter Kay dinner ladies must be on Red Alert cos it's looking likely, and if the weather forecasters are to be believed, heavy rain will be approaching later on this afternoon/evening.

Re: Official rain thread
Sunny in Wigan, but all the playing fields are flooded.
Luckilly, we have a land drain across the bottom of the garden, and I put in drainage under the lawn a few years ago. Even though I'm not riding at the moment, I am sick of it. The kids need running every day, just like dogs, kids need exercise and their waterproofs are never dry. Shall we have a sweep on what date the first "hosepipe ban" is introduced? I'm having May 22nd.

Re: Official rain thread
I'm moving to Hebden Bridge - currently in the process of buying a house. No chance of it being flooded (it's well up the hill) but would be a bit difficult to get home today if I were there; I work in Leeds and no trains or buses are now running...
I'll bet Leeds station will shut just before 4pm today too, just in time for me going home to where I live now.

Re: Official rain thread
I know it reasonably well up there, it's where the gf lives - we're actually buying a place together. You're right about the good roads though, and a nice change from the ones in Wakefield area.

Re: Official rain thread
It's all due to global warming caused by personal transport.
I'm off out on the bike......
