I struggled to reach the ground on my curvy sv. I could only reach with tip toes or shimmied my bum over the seat a bit and could get one foot down. It helped my slow control riding cos I never wanted to stop. If there was any camber on the road I had to put foot on kerb. after 30k miles I had got used to it. I now have a cagiva raptor and both feet are flat on the ground. It gives so much more confidence knowing that you can stop and at least one foot will reach the ground.

5'4" so not too vertically challenged. Have ordered a pair of Ladystar boots so that, plus taking some foam out of the seat ,should do it (hopefully!)

I'm 5'3 and manage with just a scooped seat.

Same, I used a bread knife and took some foam out, re-evaluated and gradually worked towards the best height (which you can test by putting the uncovered seat back on and seeing how it feels), then re-attached the cover with a staple gun.

If you're light like hongman and me, the loss of foam seems to have no detriment at all because we barely compress it anyway. Well, that's what I've found on days of up to 600 km.

Yep. It took some getting used to as I am still on balls of feet, but def give it some time to adjust.
