Re: Shire Horse 05/08/08
Reminds me of a recent new starter that I have. I never interviewed him or anything and he was sort of forced on me.
Anyway, he uses the same exact excuse once a week*. He needs to leave at lunch time as he has a funeral to attend to. Every time he now comes up to me to ask for time I off, I quip straight away, 'So who's died this week?' *this is on average as he has actually used this excuse more than once a week a couple of times and has actually made it to work the whole week on the odd occasion as well. |

Re: Shire Horse 05/08/08
Tried doing the pre-meet ride before but it don't really work.. People arrive , get gear off, sit down with drink & don't wanna get geared up and back out again... & it's looks like rain tomorrow!
Having said that, i'm up for it!* *If I attend of course |

I want to meet Tony to check out his boots. Might go to shire or his work at some point maybe.

I'm coming (bar torrential rain!). Half seven? Earlier if we're riding first?

Re: Shire Horse 05/08/08
Yup. Looking out the window, I'd suggest the ride will be called off. I'm on the Dullsville too, so probably pointless me doing the ride anyway. By the time you lot would have got back to the Shire, I would still be half way round.

It's forecast to dry up a bit later!
http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/...ode=maidenhead Do you have a normal ride you do on Shire nights? |

Re: Shire Horse 05/08/08
In a word, no.
It was tried out a while back (last summer) but didn't really seem to pull much interest. That on top of people not managing to keep to planned timings it sort of fizzled out. If anyone wants to give it another go, I'll be more interested than last year. Last year I was in circumstances that dictated I had to watch the pennies rather carefully. This year there is a better margin. |

Re: Shire Horse 05/08/08
I've got a twisty B-road route that will take up 45 mins to an hour but it'd be no fun in the wet..
