Re: Doesn't want to start!
OK so it turns the engine over but it won't start? It's important to list all the things it will do as well as the things it wont
If the engine turns over, you have petrol in the system, next questions are: Do you have a spark, any alarm / immobiliser, and exactly what year is it? Jambo

Re: Doesn't want to start!
mmmh... ok, maybe "engulfed" was a too literal translation from Italian!!!
the battery works, but when I try to turn the motorbike on, the motorbike coughs and I can't switch on the engine.... is it possible that it is caused by too much fuel in the combustion engine and this cause a misfunction? How could I solve it? P.S. no alarms/immobiliser, it is the 2000 model. |

Re: Doesn't want to start!
right so you turn the key in the ignition and go to start the bike as normal.
it turns over as normal (press starter and listen to hear if it is struggling) but it splutters and coughs asif it is trying to start on one cylinder. have you tryed bump starting it? my mates old NTV would not start unless bumped. this is done by sitting on the bike, put up the sidestand and pushing the bike with you sitting on it. Then you stand up on the pegs, put it into 1st gear with the clutch lever pulled in. You drop yourself onto the seat whilst letting go of the clutch and pressing the starter button. the bike should fire. If you cannot get fast enough use a friend to push you and/or maybe use 2nd gear. cheers dan |
