I recently did the Crossgate>Rhayder>elan valley>devils Bridge via the national cycle route 81, B4574. It was covered by Henry Cole on a recent motorbike show.

We could meet at crossgates, then I'd get to do the 483 a few times

I was going to suggest meeting at Llandrindod Wells. Same area so either would be good.

Crossgates for breakfast sounds ideal!

I would really like to do this ride but could someone else organise it this time around. I have to much crap going on currently to be able to give it the necessary head space. It's definitely a run I will come along on though.

Absolutely Gary. Does anyone have a date in mind? The weather looks a bit rubbish for the next week.

Probably best before the clocks change at the end of October? Difficult to know what the weather is going to do but as John says, the next week is looking pretty bad.

I had a ride out across the Brecons last a few days ago and did the road up as far as Crossgates. Weather was glorious when I left home, but turned to drizzle as soon as I got on the Brecons and continued until I crossed back to Hereford. The roads were still great though.

Are we thinking a Sunday still?

I'll do a Sunday if that's what the majority want, but if possible I'd prefer another day. I'm running on a few Sundays atm and would rather keep them clear. But as I say, I'll go with the majority decision.
