Tickets arrived this morning

Going on Friday so will be there all weekend got Grandstand seats booked for Sunday.

Might be up for a meet up depends on how busy it is and whether I can be doing with fighting through the crowds.

Probably be around the Foggy Esses on Friday and then up on the top bank by Mcleans / Coppice on Saturday

Depends on the weather, if its wet will be hiding on the bank a bit further down from the Esses where the screen was before the Melbourne loop as its a bit more sheltered there.

Fingers crossed its a dry one this year

This'll be my first time watching MotoGP there. Where will be the best place to watch from? I looked into it a bit and it looked like the old hairpin would be good, as itll be nice to see them coming down those curves!

Do I need to park anywhere in particular on Sunday to get to that location?

Also, do I have to pay any extra to park?

Lastly, is the place in a bit of a state of disarray?

Last time I went there was for BTC, absolutely years ago, well over 10. I remembered we pretty much walked around everywhere all day, and then watched it from a bank on the outside of the first corner, and then a bit later, from a big hill in the middle overlooking the curves.

Last time I picked the bank from Foggy Esses to before the drop down to Melbourne Loop. Walked up from the tent and I had to queue at 6.30am at the gate (race nut, hello) to get in and only just got the seats set on the top of the bank before it was full! Folk (premio race nuts) were sprinting past me after getting through the entrance.

Esses are always heaving, like the poster above I've seen people running to get a spot on Race day down there, it fills very very quickly.

Old Hairpin is a fine spot. You can see alot of the circuit from there from Redgate all the way to McLeans and it doesnt seem to fill up as fast, but with reduced infield space this year it might well fill fast on raceday

Get there early and get queuing.

Parking is free, but the carparks get gridlocked, dont expect to get out quickly. Avoid like the plague the carpark down the bottom end by Melbourne loop try and get into the carpark at the top end ( Mcleans / Coppice ) as that seems to clear faster onto the M1.

Stay and watch all the racing would be my advice, dont leave after the MotoGP race unless you like sitting in your car.
