Being away skiing is a valid excuse. Any other week not having a licence isn't as you live 5 mins from the tube station with an easy journey to Soho.

yes, I agree the tube station isn't far from me, but it's the time it then takes getting there, as it's not the easiest of tube journey's I don't think from what I remember. plus I then have to worry about leaving at the right time so that I know I won't miss the last train going home from baker street.

Tube direct from yours to Baker St. There's a bus from Baker Street will take you to the bottom of Shaftsbury Ave right near Frith Street so a really easy journey.

TFL journey planner, this combined with an alarm that buzzes 15 minutes before you need to leave would probably cover these insurmountable issues.

I shall not be there this evening, despite having a fortnight off work. A few days ago I decided it would be a good idea to decorate the bedroom. Yesterday we started decorating the bedroom. Today, the 3rd coat of paint went on the f***ing ceiling (it's not having another coat, I don't care anymore). This afternoon (and evening, and possibly onwards into the night) we have the pleasure of swearing at the old blue paint which refuses to be hidden by the new cream paint. And don't start me on the woodwork that I confidently predicted, "It'll only need one coat". FFS.

If I have to buy a commercial paint gun to spray the walls (swiftly followed by a new carpet, no doubt) the painting will be finished today, and tomorrow my house can go back to normality and I can go shopping for cushions

So, please excuse my absence in Soho.

Sounds like you need a break from painting, and perhaps a coffee...

Is anyone likely to be there early?

Working late this week, and the SV won't start. Next week is looking more hopeful!
