Just to put that in perspective, I refused to let them take it, spent £15 on some new levers and hey presto it's back on the road.

Does anyone think it's worth getting a petition up to force the insurance company to post/email/ carrier pigeon your proof of ncd.
Carol Nash and Mce are a nightmare to get it out off them.

Why in this day and age we have to send off a piece of paper for this when they all swap information about us and claims, etc. is ludicrous. It's like any institution we entrust money to, they are notably only interested in making more money and customer care is very secondary. That's why they get someone else to do that part, even if it's a firm of solicitors, because even they have more idea of customer service than any insurance company!
The less money I spend on insurance (not legal cover, note) the happier I am.
Bikesure... for now, probably not next year, the wheel will no doubt return to Bennett's et al in due course!

Devitt DA for me, another one where it kept on going down, it's now down to 90 quid fully comp for a 52 year old in my case - and I doubt it will drop any further

Hmmm renewal time for me too. Hastings are £25 more expensive for renewal than cheapest on Confused.com (Bennets) so should get them down close to that....

BUT all of them have a compulsory excess of £350 or more! Whats that all about? I haven't claimed in 9 years, so it shouldn't be that - I live in a low crime area and do relatively few miles these days... How can I get the excess down to a reasonable level? No point in being insured if it costs me a load of cash if the worst happens!

Yes I had this issue with Carol Nash.
They would not move and tried to sell another insurance for the excess!!
Bennet's had a policy that was just as good coverage with £150 excess and £25 cheaper...
