Good. Then there's no actual fault with the bike.

Start with the simple things:
- Is it in gear, with the sidestand down? (green light is a good indicator but isn't fool-proof).
- Kill switch, flick it a couple of times.

That done, when you pull the clutch in & hit the starter, what exactly happens?

Does the engine attempt to turn over, but not catch? Do you hear a series of rapid clicking from the seat of the bike? Do the lights dim? Do the lights go out almost completely?

Quite possibly. If you flick the kill switch off/on 3 times, that tells the ECU to reset the tip sensor as well. Just for future reference.

Yup. You have to go through the 'on' state three times, so that's 6 flips in total (off, on, off, on, off, on) - assuming you start in the state of 'on.'

But 7 flips will confuse it so much, that it will think it is an australian import.

well ive only now gotten around to doing this, flipped the kill switch, dosent change anything, still FI error.

had alook to see to set the bike into dealer mode, but my 2 empty points are not next to each other like in your diagram, one is in the middle left and the other on the bottom right. do I just use the 2 empty one anyway?

also, I cant seem to find the tip over switch, where abouts by the battery tray is it? any pics?

cheers
