I thought you might say that. Anyway, there is another thread to discuss that on, stop derailing this one or I will report you to the moderator!

Err that's just mean

You're welcome to a go on mine mate, I didn't wanna mention this in your thread but quite a few sprint owners on the sprint forum have come from the vfr, all say it's a bit bland and thirsty compared to the sprint.

You can get 45 mpg on the sprint really easy and it's a bigger engine and heavier bike, just saying ...

Phil, leave the bloke alone, what he really wants is a proper touring bike like an Aprilia Falco !
45mpg, quick when required, plenty of room for factory (or home brew) luggage & isn;t based on the old design of the queen mary!
Remember, only jokin fella!

Lardy Tourer sorted. Will have a look at tents. Any suggestions? What other things do you lot take camping?

Tents are a bit subjective, depends what you want tbh mate.

Main things to consider imo are,

Tent pack size
Weight
Do you want loads of space for your kit and loads of head height?
Or just happy with enough space to tour with.
Speed of erection (no smutty comments).

Brand wise, i'd stick with vango or coleman, good quality without being stupidly expensive.

Ive got the vango banshee 300 for solo camping, its a small 3 man, twin opening, weighs 2.4 kgs and pack size is small for a tent and fits in my top box on top of clothes etc.

Al has just bought a coleman tent which is very good too.

Other stuff most people have,
Good sleeping matt, i have a self inflating thermorest full length one, its not cheap but small ish and very good quality.

Sleeping bag, i made the mistake of buying cheap, don't, they are crap.
I got the wife a vango 2-3 season (£50 ish) and its brilliant, the bag it comes in is fur lined so you can turn it inside out and pack with clothes or whatever and use as a pillow.
I'll be buying another before long to replace my one.

Burner, ive got a brill one tbh, it has been better than expected, its a coleman F1 lite, one of the smallest, lightest on the market yet one of the most powerful (4800 watts), boils a 1 litre kettle in 3 mins if out the wind.
There are tons of burners on the market but choose one with a high wattage or you'll be waiting forever for it to cook or boil anything.

Mess tins and a kettle, these are cheap from go outdoors tbh.

Head torch.

All the rest of the stuff is probably optional but i pick stuff up as and when i need or want it.

HTH dude.

Cheers Phil. I have had a look around online but they rarely list the pack size which is important because I will need it to fit in the top box or preferable panniers so I can leave the box behind but it would be handy to be able to sit up in it to make getting dressed a bit easier.

I don't need cooking stuff, I'll just use yours

Cheers, that's kind of you lol

Why leave the top box at home? Use it to carry more crap and be more comfortable

I think go outdoors website might list the pack size and weights.
