Re: Carb vacuum
Thanks R1ffR4ff. It's my partner's bike & kept at my place, & did notice the oil level was high, & have since changed it again after it flooded the front carb the 1st time. I'll order the above kit, thanks. The vacuum wasn't working with the new kit. It was seeping out past the diaphragm, so I've put a smear of rtv around all the mating surfaces. Fuel coming out means air could be getting in, stopping the vacuum, I assume.

I know this will add to the costs but once done it should last for well over a decade as I fully serviced my fuel system not long ago and it had lasted 19 years plus or since the bike was new e.g I don't think my 99's carbs/Petcock etc had been touched since new PS Whilst you have the carbs off check the Choke plungers and release the screws if possible. The front one can get seized. Only use JIS ( Japanese Industry Screwdrivers).

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Reviews, https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...ustomerReviews ...think all cross-headed screwdrivers are a ubiquitous 'Phillips'? Think again! This is just superb, gripping almost all cross-head fasteners (Pozidriv, Supadriv and Phillips) of this size FAR better than anything I own from Draper, Stanley, et al, despite it being specifically a JIS drive type tip (Japanese Industrial Standard). Excellent quality and comfortable to use.

Re: Carb vacuum
I have only needed this JIS screwdriver. I had no interest in a kit as I tend to never use most things in a kit. The quality of this one I suspect means it will still be in use when I'm not

Re: Carb vacuum
As ," Home Mechanics" there are some tools of quality that are a joy to own and use. This is one as is my ,"Carbtune 2" Carb balancer,
https://cx500.000webhostapp.com/SV650Carb_Balance.html It's now at least 15 years old and still like new
