Death wish

Was walking on a zebra crossing yesterday & a cyclist went straight past me nearly knocknig my drink flying. It wasn't some hoodie-wearing, low-hip slung trouser sporting yob that the Daily Mail seem to beilive exists but a bloke in a suit.

I was a bit aggrieved.

Today at a work works temporary red light, there was one cyclist at the head of the queue of traffic waiting. I counted 7 ignore the red light & drive into the oncoming traffic where the road was reduced to a single lane. Two of which had cycle helmets - but they were not wearing them!

Not all cyclists are bad but in my expereince (granted it's not a proper survey) the vast majority are reckless, highway code ignoring fools.

Compulsary training for cyclists should be a priority.

Possibly that Peter A Jordan is targetting the wrong type of two wheel road user?

Pedestrians should also be made to study the highway code & obey it....but that's a separate pet peeve of mine.
