Yep, next time anyones up north pop into bridge st in Warrington and have a look at the plaque on the wall opposite McDonalds remembering the two dead children and the 65 other seriuosly injured people who were just out shopping when the IRA came to call on a sat in mar 93

I think it better to state that perhaps the "Islamic" terrorist is generally more in the media these days. However Northern Ireland provided many very nasty individuals,(from both denominations) and here in Spain the ETA threat is unfortunately far from over.

The fact the word "terrorist" was coined by the British army about the behaviour of the Israelis leaving grenades under the body's of dead soildiers clearly shows all terrosists till now have been muslims

And these same "terrosrists" if i may educate you for a minute were called "The best freedom fighters in the world" when the americans were paying them to fight the russians ot of afghanistan.

So tell me...the person who pays a terrorist to do their bidding is a what then?

This forum has no purpose, no influence and no one to answer to with regard to political views. I do enjoy it as it brings a wide range of people together from various walks of life, it provides a chance to ask questions to people you may not encounter otherwise. By asking an initial question (beyond my views) designed to provoke I can gauge a (albeit somewhat narrow) view of how people do react to provocation on important issues.

If I start talking about the Muslim terror threat and state that all terrorists so far have been Muslims it's clear I'm talking about the current Islamic spate of bombings we have had. Arguing that point is neither intelligent or relevant. Likewise the origin of the word terrorist actually comes from the 'Reign of Terror' in the French Revolution - now that hasn't got me any further has it?

An American? I'm not a supporter of the war, and think it only encourages these people to have anti-Western views. Their terrorism in my eyes barely differs from the destruction and social-ruin we have caused over the past few years in the Middle East. I'm not talking about British Soldiers I believe they suffer massive mental trauma fighting a pseudo-war; but Anglo-American politics.

The troubles in Ireland by no means dwarf the war in Iraq, and the Irish accepted willingly that they would be targeted more frequently as terror suspects as long as the trouble continued. This is no longer the case as the threat level has dropped significantly and there is no remaining 'racist victimisation' by searching them more often than the rest of the population. The Irish accepted this because they too supported peace, overlooking what small effort it took them on their behalf and that may hold some achievement in reducing the troubles.

In terms of causing offence; I only opened the discussion.
