PJ loves all our christmas illuminations, and the neighbours HATE them... so either way, I'm doubly happy!! We get to see the grin on my son's face as he sees the lights on when we come back from nursery, AND we get to p*ss off my very, VERY, VERY noisy neighbours!!

JessicaRabbit, if you really want to peeeee the neighbours off, plug your lights into one of their sockets and wait for the electricity bill to come in

Much to my nephews delight, we saw an 8ft tall inflatable Santa, other end of my street. I wouldn't mind so much if they were tasteful.. but most of its utter crap.

they can be a bit distracting on busy roads, if you are driving/riding,

The good thing about houses with Christmas lights on the outside is taht it helps you figure out all the places you don't want to live.

Also,

The houses with settees on the driveway
huge satellite dishes
random dogs roaming the streets
cars on bricks that haven't moved in ages
rocks & half-bricks lying around on street corners.
Loads of dog dirt etc
