Just always get into the habit of switching the tap to normal when you refuel as its easy to forget its set to reserve and then next time you run out, you are pushing the thing.

But yeah, as people have said, doesnt matter where the tap is when you are filling up.

Another useful habit is to set the trip to 000 when you fill up.Brim the tank and see how far it goes to reserve. This means you will know when to fill up in future without the hassle of it dying on you in the fast lane just when you need oooommmph.
I also check my MPG quite often as it is is a good indicator of bike condition and how stupidly I have been riding.Again brim the tank and set trip,do 100 miles and brim it again. The amount it takes to fill it is the amount of petrol it needs to do 100 miles and some nifty arithmetic will convert that to MPG.But roughly,a gallon is 4.5 litres,so if it takes 9 litres you are getting 50 MPG.

Well sorry for having a **** CBT examiner, i didnt, never rode another bike other than an SV. I asked questions when i bought the bike that was one of the ones i forgot.

Hence the original post, this may seem a bit dumb.

Modern bikes don't need the ****ing fuel 'turning on'. Welcome to the wonderful world of Fuel Injection.

Actually no you dont...........EVERY school or motorcycling i have seen recently, including the ones i learnt with have modern upto date bikes, therefore there is no need to discuss the issue. Whether that is the right or wrong attitude isnt up for debate.

Your on your high horse in every post you have made today....so how about stepping down off it to avoid looking anymore like a troll

Have the schools broke up for christmas early?
