Intermediate - in whose eyes?????

;o)

BTW: I was under the impression that new riders had to wait 6 months before being allowed on a track....I could be wrong - but you'd better get confirmation first!

Knockhill is good for a novice, but not too handy for most- it's not cramped, but the layout is pretty simple so you learn the basics very quickly rather than spending the first 2 sessions getting lost. Fairly wide, too. It does have one properly terrifying corner though

It's a corner, what more do you need to be terrified?

Duffus Dip... It's right at the end of the straight, and you can't see down it til you're almost on it... You go over a crest then down hard (I think it's the steepest descent on any UK short track) on a slightly off camber. It wouldn't be so intimidating if it was open and flat. Also, the gravel trap etc drops off too, so if you go into it (and you'd do it fast, and quite often mid-corner) you don't just stop, you can bounce for miles. I saw a 2CV racer roll there about 20 times, bounce straight across the track after the next left, then bounce over the tyre wall

And it doesn't help that on the SV you hit the end of the straight about 40mph slower than everyone else on the track

Going in novice, just said inter so that you concentrate on the track more than the rider

Can't believe Cadwell hasn't been mentioned yet.

One of the best, IMHO, tracks for riding in the country, cheap and you'll be able to keep up with, and hopefully embarrass, the in-line fours.

It's got the mountain too so you can go for wheelies as well as knee-down.
