Last winter I was working in the garage, and in the middle of something fiddly- I forget what- my fan heater got in the way so I just booted it over to the side of the garage. A couple of minutes later I went to get it, and I discovered I'd kicked it right into a plastic petrol can, which had swelled up to bursting point and had petrol and vapour squirting out under pressure around the cap, right beside the fan heater with its rubbish sparky motor "How to make a bomb"

Has anyone else done the "spray the frozen up windscreen with de-icer only to discover minutes later that you done it with WD40" thing?

I can't be the only steaming idiot on here.

Can I?

Nope... But then, I did once go to pick up what I thought was a can of fine rubbing compound, to remove a scratch in my paint, and it turned out to be a can of black paint

I was reading a photography magazine the other day and they had advice from the experts. One simply said:
"It is not a good idea to keep compressed air, WD40 and spray glue on the same shelf"

The feeling you must have in your gut when you've just sprayed glue onto the sensor of a professional D-SLR must be propperly nasty....
