I rode 100 miles recently with the gear knob broken off - you can ride the sv just by catching the gear lever with the side of your boot - works 75% of the time. No bolted/chemical metal bonded back on...

Rode back from the Lydden Soho track day with one footpeg on the wrong way up. I had my other leg resting on the crash bung coz I couldn't bend it enough to get it on the pegs anyway, so only needed one...
100 miles with an increasingly swelling right leg isn't to be recommended, let me tell you! |

The side stand cut out switch on my old PowerValve gave up while out one day, causing the engine to stop, disconnecting it did not work so I pushed a clipper lighter metal cap into the connector to short it out, simple but effective
