That sucks. I wish you the best of luck in finding it and I will keep a look out for it.

How did you have it chained up? Theres a guy round here with a fazer, and he just parks his bike outside his window, no lock on it (except the steering lock), no cover, just there. I can't understand how he can trust people not to touch it; mines locked up pretty secure (i think so, anyway)

The REG is YJ53 ZG0
It's a Blue SV650s K3 with Belly pan and a Sat Nav mount which is why I've just gotten Contents insurance this morning in case they come back for that :sigh:

Renting a tiny Bungalow at the moment (all i can afford lol) no way I can get a bike in here.
It's covered and chained (they took the chain as well, nothing to chain it too...) but they left and hooked the cover over the wheelie bins etc that they used to block up the alcove in which my front door is to make it more difficult to get out) , It's down the side of the bungalow in a private bay screened off by a low wall.

Annoyingly I've just found out this happened to the previous tenant too when they towed his Van away...

I was looking at getting a ground anchor installed but I've not got the few hundred to spare to do it, only just got something to sit on in the house after 2 months....

Police didn't want to bother coming round to check for prints or anything and insurance will let me know in a couple of days what the offer is.

Sorry to hear that =/
It's always gutting and nowhere seems safe.

Yeah seems so and I thought I'd be moving up from Luton :sigh:
I'll check Ebay but I'd be supprised to see it on there, the poor girl is a commuter bike from MK to London every day and had a few SMIDSY's and even had the bar ends stolen while I was parked up in a pub last Crimbo so she's not in a great state and I thought that alone would be a pretty big detterent especially as SV's are exactly high demand expensive bikes but people will steal anything =/

A cheap security device may be a couple of buckets filled with cement, with something set in them to chain your next bike to. Dosnt stop them being lifted away with the bike, but two or three would certainly make it akward for anyone. I had one done for my bike when i was living in a flat at university, it was quite secure and quite heavy; suddenly, two blokes lifting one bike needs to be three or four with just one bucket of concrete

That's actually a bloody good idea and certainly doable

Thanks for the idea.
When/If I replace the bike I'll certainly be doing SOMETHING even if I have to take out a loan to do it. 3 bikes in 7 years is 3 too many.
