French Connection is excellent but what you've really got to know is that much of it was real, they loaded up a car with a camera and went out one morning, no closed roads and no permission. The cars and people you see swerving out of the way aren't actors or stuntman, it's real people. When it comes on next, have a look at it knowing that and makes it look really scary.

Blues brothers chase was funny.
Going to watch Ronin now, I liked that chase, and Taxi & French Connection. I do enjoy a good car chase ![]() |

No one has mentioned Bullitt yet! Jeez! You all wrong. Oh and there is no Audi in the Ronin chase, is a BMW. And another thing, how does a crappy Peugeot keep up that BMW - realistic, NOT!

There's a simple answer to that..........................because the BMW is being driven by a woman ![]()

Luc Besson (class act) was involved in both Taxi and Ronin.... I'll get my anorak!
![]() Taxi 2, had more proper chases. Never bothered with the Hollywood remake of the first one ![]() Bullitt gets it for me though, as decades later it still looks and sounds amazing. ![]() Last edited by STRAMASHER; 05-01-08 at 11:03 AM. Reason: anorak had a few holes in it! |

What about the second Bourne film - the bit in Moscow I think, that's pretty good. The third film in New York's not bad either

+1 for The French Connection.
I love the way the cars are driven in Ronin though, twitching and scrabbling for grip like BTCC cars, as opposed to hanging the back end out 90 degrees round every corner Dukes of Hazzard style. Maybe because ex F1 fella Jean-Pierre Jarrier was doing the driving. But Popeye Doyle is the coolest! |
