Pete, how did you get that Givi rack to fit onto the seat?
The humpback panniers look to be a great idea, I have a lower scorp pipe to put it back to low level which I could do if using the bike with panniers. Would just have to put the pillion pegs back on too which i guess would be better for securing straps. |

Rob, the plate has a honeycombe of bolt holes under the central, removable plate.
At the back, two bolts straight through the seat. At the front, two bolts through the plate, then into metal sleeves through the seat foam to stop it crushing the foam, then through the seat base. Very easy to do, if you decide to, let me know, I'll take some more pics of it for you! Or, bit pricey

I'm looking at doing the exact same (re bolting the givi plate to the seat) after I saw it done on an SV1000, looked really good, so i'd be interested in some more pictures if you wouldn't mind bluepete. looks like the best solution for me, put a givi plate on, can use any box (not just the Suzuki 32 ltr one) and its cheap and cheerful, compared to the £180 all in for the official one, plus i dislike the givi rack because of the way it mounts over the grab rail etc.
just my opinion anyhow, i'm currently eyeing up a few seats so will grab a universal mounting plate and find me an E450 top box i think. |

I use it on just the seat mounts for light things, but when filling it, there are two straps that pull the plate down and attatch to the rear foot pegs. It was fully loaded for the Hardy Bikers ride around the Lakes and was as solid as you like.
