Like the look of the aprilia habana - hope the thieves fall under a HGV.
First bike I had - very nasty russian MZ125 thing- paid £50 and I was living in rough part of Leeds - no chain or ignition lock (I used a teaspoon to start it) and it was stolen about 3 times - usually got dumped by the thieves after about 5 minutes - they must have decided that it wasn't safe or fun - particularly as the front drum brake was full of oil/grease. I would usually just wander down the road and pick it up off the floor in the morning a couple of hundred yards away. It rarely worked at the best of times and they couldnt seem to figure out the fuel reserve. It was crashed/dropped about 15 times (only once by me) yet still sold it on for £50.

Mate of mine had a CR500 crosser. He had in nicked twice out of his shed, and both times he found it in the middle of the local Rec where the gits had dumped it after failing to get it started. He didn't have the heart to put a sign on the shed door telling the thieves he always drained the carb and took the main jet out after riding it. Hope the little beggers broke their ankles kicking it....

thanks for all the kind words i don't feel so alone now

just had a thought tho. the electric start button hasn't worked for about a month or so and it has to be kick started.
if the scrotes were to attempt hotwiring it, would it not be trying to make a connection in the same way as using the start button, and therefore not work on my bike??

just hoping i can go out in the daylight tommorrow and find it abandoned within pushing distance of my house, (fingers crossed) x

Sorry to hear this, it is an absolute swine. My garage was broken into recently and scum made off with over £400 worth of tools. Thankfully, they caught him and as he was on bail for a similar offence he spent Christmas in the cells.

Sorry to hear about your bike, Pickles.

You don't happen to live in Hendon by any chance?

That's one less bike-thieving scum around. I feel sorry for the other people who were injured.

Edit: Apparently this happened about a mile from where I live. Local bike thieving scum dead. Result, I'd say. Hope it was the one who nicked my SV.

Sorry to hear this but take some sollace in this from the Metro This Morning:

A Man died last night after he was struck by a car while being followed by police [On foot].
The Victim *sic* jumped over a fence onto the M1 and was hit by a car, he was one of three men reported to police by a passer by who became suspicious when they were spotted pushing a moped.

The IPCC will investiage the death near J1 of the Motorway [Staples Corner].

IMHO the vicitims are the bike owner and the person in the car, not the scroat and the IPCC shouldn't waste their time too much on this one.

Sorry to hear of this, I'd imagine it's massively frustrating! I've lived in some very high crime areas in the past (apparently mu current area's well above par for bike theft) and know the feeling of going out every morning thinking "will it still be there?"

Hope it turns up, otherwise it'll be the local free adverts I guess....
