I'm gonna go with teh sidestand switch too; you could test it by taking the wires out and putting them together, starting the bike and putting it into gear (make sure sidestand is up!)

This would show a faulty switch, since if you have bypassed it and it all works, then the switch is faulty

Squirt some WD40 on and around the sidestand switch and give it a few operations, it'll probably clear up.

If it should move and doesn't, WD40.

If it moves and shouldn't, duct tape.
