Default Re: Front sprocket cover on a trackbike?

It's a K3, all bets are off, ignore me completely.

However... the thermostat is a completely different bit of kit, its in the piping between the cylinders under the throttle bodies in your case, its a temperature sensetive valve that sends coolant round the engine again if the engines cold, but through the rad if its hot, this allows the engine to get up to operating temp quicker. This is pretty much universally used on engines.

The curvy has a fan sensor attatched to the corner of the rad, this, iirc, allows current to flow through it when it gets hot, I think it goes through the sensor, then to earth.

The coolant light sensor is on the thermostat housing, it's there so it will still warn you the temp is getting high if the thermostat was to jam closed. It allows current to flow through it directly to earth via the thermostat housing at a certain temperature.

I have no idea how much of this applies to them pointy things.
