Unless there is a really easy way to fit two (that doesnt involve angle grinders) then I might also stick with the one. Would be a shame though as I could really do with the extra db's in the London traffic

Is 2 really that much more than one? I never find my one to not be adequate.

Might be interested in one for my other bike.

I read one of Baph's posts about this and although it confused the hell out of me (he lost me when he talked about decibels being a logorithmic scale) he seemed to have proved that having two makes quite a bit of difference.

Alas if nobody else can offer me advice of fittint two then I will have to stick with one and save the other one for the CBR when/if I get it - sorry stu that one aint for sale!

Don't think I can offer any further advice, if the one you have is the same as the pics on the previous page. Mine has the compressor mounted on the back of the horns, so I think I have the nautilus instead (and that certainly doesn't fit behind the rad).

So where did you put yours then?

For a pointy they won't fit in the position in that photo as the curvey's fairing comes down lower than a pointy's (see the image at the top of this web page for details.

If you have some kind of bracket with the horns, you might be able to bend that so that it can be put on the radiator mounting bracket and the horns then sit inside the fairing, though you'll have to ensure that you don't foul the forks on full lock.

There are some fitting instructions given on the main site. Go to "FAQ's and How To's" and search out "How to fit FIAMM horns" which opens as a Word document.

Even if you decide to fit just one horn, you'll be best advised to use a relay rather than plugging it into the standard horn connection. I bought a single FIAMM horn and didn't bother with the relay. I managed to fry the connections in my ignition barrel -- twice! -- before the dealers managed to figure out what the hell was happening. I've now mounted the standard horn in there. At least it doesn't get hot and stop working, which is an improvement over the standard mounting position.

Attached to the lower fairing mounting bracket, on the frame end of the left hand side of the bike. The nozzle of the horn points about 15 degrees above horizontal, and it blows out of the front of the bike. It should drain easier that way, but I haven't had it dripping wet yet.

To complete the thread...I fitted the horns to the fairing fixtures located at either side of the radiator. They seem to fit pretty snuggly and sound really good. It was quite a simple job, the only tricky part was finding a decent place to run the wires but that just took some thought and planning.

PS - the stock horn should be the first thing to go from anyone's bike. If I had these bad boys fitted then I am sure that my first accident (where a guy reversed over me) would never have happened.

Stu, is your pic not a FIAMM?

I'm playing about with a Stoblel Nautilus- the gigantic one- just now, turns out the compressor can be attached from the horn and mounted seperately, makes things much easier. And it should make my next MOT even funnier, this time I swear the examiner's going to get stuck in the rafters
