You could always try one of these

It certainly keep it dry and safe, but would you want a gimp mask I ask myself

A helmet holder only holds the helmet, it doesn't guarantee to keep it safe from damage. It can still get knocked, chipped, used as a rubbish bin or, worst case scenario, a toilet

You can buy helmet bags that are extra strong and have fixings to connect to the helmet lock, but ours go with us, a la Fizz
Arrrrrgh - A toilet?

IMHO if you're near the bike, then its fine on the mirror. The key is to always put it on the RHS mirror, as the bike leans to the left on the sidestand.

If i'm leving the bike, then it comes with me.

ive always put my helemt on the pillion seat with the SV. dont like puting it on the mirror as it tends to knock it slightly. if i walk away from the bike or sit on it i pet my arm through the helemt, best way i think!

If I am close to the bike and want to put the helmet down for a short while it goes on the floor close up to the front wheel on the left (as you sit on the bike). This way the likelyhood of it getting kicked by accident is minimal as you have to be really close to the bike to kick it.
If the floor is wet, it still goes there, funnily enough the inside doesn't get wet.............

mine always goes on the floor, either striaght on the floor or on my gloves either way its not on the bike. i like the idea of the hooks on the bikes but as lissa says its then left to the mercy of the public. i some times take the bag i got with my helmet an sling it over my shoulder just to make things little easyier when carrying all my gear. Scott.
