Default Re: Hein Gericke "We'll do you a deal" - how much discount can I expect?

I do it quite often in shops, demand a discount and be prepared to walk out if they won't come down to my price.

Did it the other day in Maplins. they wanted to charge me about £1.78 per F type connector I can buy them for about 38 pence 2 miles up the road. Walked out. As I wanted 10.

Best one was I took the wife to B&Q looking at electric showers. She chooses the most expensive and £230 and I check my local builders merchant £125. B&Q offer to meet any price and deduct 10%. So I enjoyed playing that one. the difference was so great that the girl could not allow the transaction without the managers approval. So when I got about £95 off it I was surprised that they did not re-align their price to ensure no other could claim

Haha, when I'm buying bike bits at places that don't know me I usually give them a business card, then they tell me I'm getting discount - it's rare I have to ask.
