Get on to ThinkBroadBand and have a search around. Loads in there about extension wiring. Also have a look at ADSLNation - Use one of their master socket filter faceplates or a filtered extension faceplate, really work well.

Have you checked the socket upstairs, made sure that is wired correctly? You should just need to extend 2,3, and 5 from the master to the extension (after the line capacitor), colours are irrelivent, BT 2 pair uses blue and orange with tracer pairs, wheras some cables are blue,orange, brown & green.
If You are just getting an 'echo', then you are not terminating the line correctly - sign of crossed wiring. |
