Thanks for all the advice/questions so far!

However, I do like to be different, and the fact that I don't see many of these about makes me like that. Unless there a bad reason that you don't see many! lol Quote:
Insurance info: I'm 31, been riding 11 months so far, so will have 1 years no claims bonus all being well. As long as my insurance comes in under about 750 for the first year then I don't mind too much. I've riden allsorts experience wise, including 9 months of comuting to/from work, as well as weekend jonties. About 4k miles experience, no real long journeys yet though. Engine: Don't mind really, I love the screaming sound of a Straight 4, but wouldn't rule others out at all, not pidgeon holed my engine choice. Style: I love the Supersports, but realise that they aren't completely suited to what I need or to my size. I like the fully/mostly faired look. Not keen on FZR Half faired kinda look though, and nakeds/trailies etc are not my thing. I put a double bubble on my SV650S but still get really knocked around. |

I'm 6'1" and i find my 05 R6 pretty comfortable. You're only 2 inches taller but i guess that could make all the difference comfort wise. With a DB screen the airflow is just about over me, so i imagine you would cop it full in the helmet.
If you're used to a SV and are tall, then its worth considering the placement of the pegs as well. They are more sporty, so might be a problem for the tall. I think you could definitely ride a ss600 no problem(well it would be tolerable at least) but where you may come unstuck is long ride comfort/touring. The only way to know is to have a substantial test ride, not a quick 30 minutes. I also think the GSXR-750 is about the same size physically as the 600. |

I do love that Mille RSV1000R. Though the kind of owner comments that are at the botom of the VisorDown review are what worry me. Not sure it'll be ideal for comuting, especially once it gets colder and rains occasionally. But it does look so fine!
Think the ideal solution would be to get a nice bike for all fun & touring. Then get a crappy < £1k kinda comuting bike. Though that's increasing budgets etc thoguh and not sure I can afford that. Not even sure how much I'd get for mine in private of PX. It's a 2000 W plate curvey with 15k on it, in good condition. Any ideas? I was guessing around the 1500 mark, maybe more on a good day. |

How Rude!
![]() ![]() If you like the Aprillia Mille, have you considered the Falco? Same engine but a little more touring oriented. This was the other bike on my short list, but was a little too sporty for my requirements. |

One of these.....
Triple, very repliable now (used to have issues, but company has been bought and all sorted). Low down power of a twin, but top end of a IL4. I loved the ride but out of my price range. You hardly see any at all for that exclusivity too ![]() ![]() |

I'm 6'5 and a large frame *cough* 'Lard-Frame' and I ride all day long on the 2007/8 zx6r. I know there are so cracking deals to be had on them so the model before is now showing up really cheap as a used by (2005-07 ). It has a great 636 engine that you don't need to throttle it to make any power, plus is a really nice bike to ride. I had a really good test ride on one, the only reason I bought the new one was a great finance deal at the time.
Up until recently I did a lot of miles in all kinds of weather with the only alteration to the bike being Kawasaki's own tall screen. I find it comfy enough for 250 miles (of course with a obligatory petrol stop somewhere in the middle). I ride with feet up on the pegs and not hanging off, and have never really felt cramped or as if I was riding a kids bike. My advice is try everything you can get your hands on, find a big dealers and just sit on everything. put your feet up get adjusted and you'll soon work out what feels right. |

Went into the local Triumph dealership on my way home from work, just to see what's around. The first Sports Tourer I've seen that I liked the look of. It was the Sprint 1050, trouble is, it's well over budget.
