You'll be wanting one of these then...

If you've got a stand that goes through the swing arm pivot point (like Abba or NWS*) then a piece of wood would support the front.

*They are less than £100 here.

If it looks OK it probably is, I would ride it to see how it feels & take it from there.

You can loosen the 4 bolts on the lower yoke & bounce the bike up & down (even give it tiny ride) that can help the forks straighten up. Obviously not required if there's not a problem in the first place.

Oh I hope you didn't replace the K&N filter as they are washable - you do mean that you replaced with a K&N right?

Those are great stands, wish I could find one available in the US!

This is the stand I have for the fronthttp://www.kneedraggers.com/details/...-53-DMP-3.html Got it from a local shop for about the same price. I have a Pit Bull for the rear. Like Stu said you can also just loosen the bottom yoke and push down on the bars. If you ever remove the front wheel for any sort of maintenance(changing tires, rotors, servicing the forks), the front stand can be very useful. I used it to completely remove my forks and put new internals in them.
Someone would do well getting the Abba stand available here!

Do you ride the sv over here often?

I meant to say "cleaned".

I keep meaning to, but I haven't yet. Whenever I ride over there, I'm usually bringing sleeping bag, tent, rope, quickdraws, harness, rock climbing shoes, etc... More gear than I would feel comfortable with stacking on my bike.

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

PS: BigApe... That's nasty! Is that your lovely collection of screws?
