Does anyone know thier 'refund' policy if you get the Skills for Life thing, then have an accident and can't ride - can you sorta defer your membership until you are fit again?

have u been riding with the thames valley lot ?
attacking every road at 100 + mph is their style.....

Best to speak to the local club you were going to but IIRC you are paying for as many runs as needed & the test whenever you take it.
But you, can't ride? seemed fine last time I saw you.

See this thread http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=106092

If you do it for long enough there is a pretty high likley hood of passing an unmarked police car at some point.

This was a couple of years ago when my knee first went - the Northampton group refused to take me out (goddamn them, I paid for the hitman myself and everything ).
It took a few arguments before they admitted that I perhaps would be OK - but by that time I was well and truely tee'd off with them and so kinda let it slide.
I also had the idea in my head that you had to take the test within a year or something so thought that I'd wasted both a year and my membership...

... I s'pose I really ought to phone the IAM and find out.

I rode with the northamptonshire group and found them nice people. A couple of really good observers ride with them. A few pretty poor ones as well though.

Yeah there were some sound folks there, but there were also a couple of more vocal 'pipe n slippers Pan European' brigade too - who seemed to have the greater say.

I thought it was about 8/9 observed rides included in the SFL pack.

It's as many observed rides as you need, I had about 20, I had lots of bad habits to unlearn. This I found very difficult as I would concentrate on getting one element right and others would slip back into the bad. It took my over a year, The IAM head office were flexible about the rules and so was the local group.
