It doesn't run all the time remember, it tops up the reservoir as neccessary as you use the tools.

Mine is 95db and it is LOUD!
![]() ![]() Bearing in mind db is a logarithmic scale, 97db is quite a bit louder than 95db!! ![]() All that said, its not THAT much louder than my Dyson hoover ... its only short durations anyway, so I suppose not really any worse than quick hoover round would be for your neighbours! ![]() Last edited by Blue_SV650S; 26-03-08 at 07:50 PM. |

To give you an idea .. ever heard a generator going?!?!?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PETROL-GENERAT...em200208005312 That is a big old genny, and by the look of it that is a measly 69db ... This diesel one (that is going to be F-loud) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ELECTRIC-START...em200208004886 is 98db ![]() You are going to have the best part of a poorly silenced diesel generator fired up!! ![]() ![]() |

97db is about as loud as my SV at idle. I think my compressor is rated at 91, and it's still plenty loud, I never use it after 10pm frinstance. In fact, I don't use it much at all now I think about it, mainly for the air blower...

I've used a little 6 litre compressor for years for nailing and air tooling, it was cheap, is quiet and does the job fine. Probably wouldn't be so great for paint spraying. 24l is a pretty big thing to have about though.

Agreed but, not for blowing up a flat car tyre without the compressor being plugged in. A little 6ltr will do you a great job for spraying if it can supply enough to run a nail gun then you can get spray guns desighned for low output compressors. Doubt if you could do a car with it but, smaller stuff should be good, airbrush especially.

Got it all assembled and started up. I know it will p*ss off my neighbour but it doesn't sound dauntingly loud to me. Honestly well pleased with the kit. Even got an air brushing kit included. Why would anyone want to brush air though?
