No they're not as good as them. But that's why they are slightly cheaper and at the end of the day they do the same job, don't think you can be too particular about things when theres a budget (as such) to work to.
I put the Dynavolt GEL battery in my 2000 SV and I've had no problems what so ever. Its even been left for a while and still turned over with no extra charging. I didn't suggest this one for him as it costs £79.64!!! ![]() |

I got a Yuasa YTZ-12S (the YTZ range are higher cranking capacity than the YTS) from the local Honda dealer a few months ago for straight £50.
The YTZ14-S is exactly the same physical size and even more starting current, don't know the price.

you're right, they are cheaper then the normal yuasa/varta ones, but if you check my first reply you'll see that they're doing the varta ones for £29.99 - can't be bad ![]()

I just got a Dynavolt Gel battery, the one marked as the upgrade rather than replacement for 60 squids. Whacked the old one out and thought uh-oh as realised the Dynavolt was twice the height of the battery i'd just taken out! Fits in the SV ok though, but only just.
Turns over like a dream now even if its been left for a couple weeks with the alarm on. Starts 100% better. Last edited by Durbs; 10-04-08 at 05:43 PM. Reason: typo |

I buy Yuasa ones from my local lawnmower repair shop, 30 - 35 quid for just about every battery I've bought in the past year regardless of type. I just bought an obscure one for an NC30 and that was 28 quid.

Got an Odyssey sealed battery on mine. Think it's the PC310, but not sure. I got mine from Knight battery sales, about £70. Pricey but this one's lasted 2 years with no trouble whatsoever (even though my reg/rec and generator both went duff allowing the battery to discharge several times
