I am with VM. £35 a month for 20Mb broadband. Customer services is terrible. Indian script monkeys who do not know their own products, and talk you through rebooting the modem whenever you have a problem with their network.

However the VM support news guys are excellent, you post diagnostics and they will where necessary raise support calls, give you the ticket numbers and report progress etc. . However, VM infrastructure is over capacity. They are upping their 4Mb customers to 10Mb but at time can only deliver 2-3Mb. God knows what will happen with the proposed 50Mb tier.

They lie about being fibre. Fibre to the cabinet. but the last hop is on Co-ax. But the regulator allows the lie. They claim to be unlimited. However they don't "Traffic Manage", instead they use STM. in my book still traffic management.

Their still turning a deaf ear to Phorm.

Telephone from VM is terrible. 6p/call connection charge on top of £11 line rental. I went VoIP and saved a fortune.

I just wish I could get ADSL and I would have left them the day Telewest tied up with NTHell, and all were reduced to the lowest form of service or lack of.

We are with talktalk through carphone warehouse. its £21 per month, this includes line rental phone calls any time of day(not mobiles),international calls(see list of countrys as its not all), and broadband. Not bad for £21 , its a bit slow sometimes due to a lot of people being on it with it being cheap. To be fair its not bad customer service, not the best but far from the worst at least you can get through fairly quick. best of luck Malc.

I am with Sky, recently swithced. I already had Sky tv, so I took up their phone and web service.

I pay £5 / month for 40gb, but I regularly go over. There is no restriction with certain traffic. Right now I am hammering the newsgroups getting a steady 845 kb/s download speed.

Free router included too, already pre set up. And their password is easy to hack - who'd have thought they would set it to "sky"

Up to 16meg for a tenner a month if you're an 02 mobile customer already, 15 quid if you're not.
Using o2 mobile has been great, their customer services and general attitude are fantastic.

Virgin are good, no phone line needed. I give them 10/10
+ if you do get the phone line you get free cable TV

£50 a month for unlimited broadband and unlimited, free calls to all landline phones (not mobile phones). Good deal in my opinion!

Maria
I pay £20 for the same service, but i only have a 2 meg service. I dont need any faster.

My mum is on o2. Its great for her. Signed her up a month or so agao, and as long as she puts £10 a quarter on her PAYG phone, she gets BB for £7.50.

Never had to call customer service on either other than to sort billing issues out. Now done, all is good.

As for UK based call centres, that may be pusing it!

You get what you pay for...

Zen costs me £27 a month (well, not me, but my company). It's no frills business class connectivity. Great customer service by real people with real yorkshire accents.

Expensive, but it works.
