i had a whhite power shock on my RM250 moto-x they are pretty well known for off roaders, i did not know they also did road bike shocks

If you're looking for a new shock though look around to widen your choice, there are some good quality shocks out there. Problem I find is that all the 'big hitters' tend to ride on the back of their competition involvement.

I reckon the WP/Ohlins/Showa/(insert your shock name here) that you see used in MotoGP, World Supers etc etc are far from the product that you or I can buy off the shelf. Half the success is not down to the actual shock anyway, its in the skill of setup and tuning to the conditions and rider style.

If you're serious about a good quality shock there's quite a good selection across the board for about the same price range. I've just been through this myself and was spoilt for choice.

Many thanks for the replies-I'd heard of wp shocks but never made the connection with white power-can get hold of one for 60 bangers as a spare so was looking for (and received)more knowledgeable info from fellow orgers.

I had WP USD forks on my KTM and a WP rear shock , once I`d got them set up that was one very sorted bike and brought smiles per miles in abundance

There are 2 WP shocks available for the SV .. from pics, one looks to be a OE replacement, the other a race shock ... make sure you know what you are getting

That is kinda an otiose point ... at the end of the day I don't think the Honda/Yamaha etc etc I see on telly bares much resemblance to what I can buy either

Fact is these 'big hitters' know what they are doing

That's very cheap. But then mine was ?50, and turned out to need over ?200 work to get it servicable, because the main shaft needed rechromed or replaced (it had a lot of other issues to be fair, that's just what pushed it over the edge)
