I picked up a '99 SV650S. At least I think it's an S. It has some terrible fairing the previous owner put on and clip-ons, but the rear sets don't seem that far back. Either way, the top triple doesn't have bar mounts, but it does have an upgrade front shock and fox rear adjustable with res.

I got a pretty good deal on it. The guy laid it down on the right and it freaked him out enough to sell it off. So the tank is scraped a bit, the rear pillion plastic is scraped, the ugly fairing is crunched, but the frame is untouched and it runs like a champ. I was able to get it, tank bag, Olympic gloves, and a Fieldsheer textile jacket for $1800, so even with a bit of work to do I feel good about the deal.

Welcome.

If you're curious about if it's N or S then you could count the links in the chain (assuming it's standard), or measure the length of the swingarm. There are few real differences though.

I am curious, and I do have some work to do so it wouldn't be too difficult to really figure out whether or not it's an S or N.

Yellow fastest? I had heard blue was faster...not that I could complain about color at that price. I do enjoy seeing all the different schemes done to everyone bikes. There are some really creative ideas I'm tempted to try emulating.

The footrests and radiator say it's an S model.

(then again N radiators are like hen's teeth)
