I have to say that I don't feel as confident on my ZZR in the wet as my SV. The SV has Metzler Z6 tyres on. This could be just because the SV is a lighter bike and I'm happier chucking it about, but I have a feeling it could also be a tyre issue too.

Is it the Supermaxx you have (which is a relatively new tyre) or another model?

I think it is the MAXXSPORT but without checking I can't be 100%. It is about 9 months old. I'll have a look this evening and let you know. I have done all my winter riding on it however, so it is by no means terrible!

Got a pair of Supermaxx fitted today at Redcar Suzuki in Leicester for £150. Had a 50 mile ride home in heavy rain, which I was wary about before setting out, but any concerns were unecessary as not a single slip on the way! They had tremendous levels of grip straight out of the box. Cant wait to try them in the dry.
I know this is a new tyre to the market and I think only available in limited sizes, I think presently only in 180's & 190's, but no doubt more will follow. |

Hi people. Just purchase me some MAXXIS SuperMaxx tyres for my pointy K5 sv. They wasn't my preferred choice of tyre but i was limited due to lack of funds. I will let you know how good they are when i've got them fitted and scrubbed in.

I've had a rear one on for about 500 miles and no problems feel fine in the wet too, no probs over white lines or overbanding either.

Few people I know have used these and say they heat up very quick and offer plenty of grip.
I'm guessing they are good also I think the prices are cheaper |

I payed just under £100 for a front and rear. If they last me a year i'll be well chuffed with them for the price. ![]() |

I had a rear (older model though) on my ZZR600. Can't complain really, it only lasted for about 4500miles but then at the price that's OK. They do square off quicker than more expensive sports touring rubber hence I now go for BT021's but if you don't do much long distance motorway stuff then they aren't a bad tyre really.
