It's funny- I find it FAR easier to frame a picture with a screen on a digital camera than through the viewfinder.

Just keep taking pictures and you'll learn as you go. Exposure is as important as framing too- it took a while for me to realise that if you underexpose a sunset, you get more dramatic colours- I kept getting really washed out sunsets for years!
Yea, I read about that "rule" on a website a while ago, it made good sense to me as a general rule of thumb

I'll try under exposing at sunset...

BTW- I wasn't inferring your sunset was washed out (hope it didn't come out like that)- you got some nice colours there!

lol na, i know!!! That was an odd sunset, the colours where really strong. I think jester got some pics on his phone of the same night aswell. But I will take your tips in and try them out, nice to play about and see what effects you can get
