Thats weird. My front ones are a rounder shaper and the rear ones are more square shaped. The guy that had the sv before me didn't seem like the modding type. So which type do you guys have?

+1 on the different connectors. Was same on my K4s and that was absolutely standard and owned by me from new. Ended up cutting the existing wires and use bullet connectors to connect them up. Bought the 4 pack of Indyleads (Motrax things) and realised they were no use.

Not sure if they're different at the rear on my bike, but I can agree that the front ones are the rounder version. I think the Motrax version of those is badged Yamaha. Bloody confusing that. Not quite managed that job that caused me to look at those in the first place yet.

Just done the mini indys on my sv650k6. Didn't look at the front connectors before buying a set of 4 motrax connectors!. What you need for the front ones are the motrax connectors for Yamaha. Don't know why Suzuki use 2 different types, maybe dipping their pinkies into Yamahas parts bins!

I just did this front and rear on my K3. I had the same problem as you in that the connectors on the new indicators didn't match those on the existing ones. I took the old indicators and cut the connectors off with 1 and a half inches of wire left. Did the same on the new ones. They were only 12 quid so wasn't too nervous. I basically spliced them together by exposing some of the wire, twisting them together to get a join, wee dollop of solder and then taped them up with electrical tape. Took all of 15 minutes. I am in no way a 'handy' person and found this to be very straightforward. They work perfectly. Think this only applies to non led ones though.........
Hope this helps. Nicky |
