Go and get it, push the f###er home!

Ignition switch is a simple connector, you need a special security torx bit to undo the switch from the bars though.

Seriously go get it and ring your recovery and claim to have broken down or something, they'll charge you for storing it! The robbing swines.

Will do, certainly, but when I called them they said they are already closing and I have to wait till Monday 8:30 - if they gonna charge me for the weekend I gonna throw a German tantrum cos I called them ways b4 12, but they needed ages searching for it and coming back to me.

I gonna take pics and show you guys what has happened.

Agree with Yorkie.Just get it back out of the thieving recovery firms hands. Are you in the AA or RAC?They might recover it for you. Also why was it "recovered" in the first place? The police must have authorised this and normally only do so if the bike is causing an obstruction. Here in London they otherwise just leave them at the roadside.Perhaps they should pay for "their" removal.Parts for fixing it should be cheap enough as long as theirs no structural damage.

Hi there,
yes, they actually said, the police authorised them to tow it away because it was damaged and in their opinion it could have been taken again and set fire to or something like that. But they still said that it is me who has to pay for it.

Unfortunately I am not with the AA or similar (wanted to save money) but I just reached one of my friends who has got a van, so he's gonna help me to get it back home at least. I have got a garage, so then I have got some time for rational decision making...

The chances of it being more than 50 quids worth of bits are slim

I like your enthusiasm.

The dude at the towing place said to me he cannot comment on the damage, I have to see my self if it is worth it...

you should see my bike. Fairing panels and stuff can be filled with fibreglass or done properly with gaffer tape. Broken levers are cheap. Ignition switch is easy to sort. Stop worrying, it'll be fine!

Ignition switch and the steering lock are in the same mechanism, replace the lock barrel and it'll be fine

If you need a new ignition switch let me know, I'll be swapping mine shortly (along with fuel tank and tail, so it'll keep one key for all 3). It's a bit worn- the key comes out with the ignition on- which is why I'm replacing but it does work perfectly, so you can have it for the price of postage once it's out of the bike... I'm not sure how many keys I have for it, 2 probably but maybe just one.
