I'm also about to get a tinted visor. Presently have a clear arai.
If its bright I have been wearing dark shades but I find them uncomfortable.
I see you can get a light tinted visor for arai's and then theres the black one.
Is the light tint any good? How keen are the cops if you are using a black visor?

Cheers.

If you carry your clear visor with you and you do get stopped most likely they'll let you go without doing anything.

I've been stopped in the p*ssing rain with my iridium visor on and the copper never said a word about my dark visor, he was just checking I had tax and insurance and let me on my way again.

IMHO the safety benefits more than offset the chance / risk of being stopped for a dark visor.

Is the light tint a road legal one? If so, I'd avoid it - I chose the medium (not road legal) tint for my Shoei and if I had to choose again I would look at the dark tint a lot more seriously.

Having said that, the medium has been a good compromise - it allows enough light through that I've used it in the rain and also in the dark (but not much). It's just the recent weather that overwhelms it a little.

My commute is into the sun on the way to work and into the sun again on the way home - it hurts my eyes if I wear a clear visor*!!

*nothing to do with a dark visor being nice and stealth!

How do you carry it? The arai L type visor's pretty bulky for stiking inside your leathers no?

I'll say. Riding home late on a sunny day I've been practically blind sometimes.

Right dark tint it is..............
Thanks for the advice.

I've got a pouch that the visor goes into and then you wear the pouch round your waist like a belt.

I've done this with the visor off of my Arai RX7 Corsair and My Shoei XR900
