buy a cheap tent lyle then only carry it one way

Ah thanks this will be useful for me too, I think my next Europe trip (I didn't die in Luxembourg by the way ) will make more use of a tent!

i got one of these mate from decathalon near MFN tho not tryed it yet, so light n small when packed its the T2 ultralight £69

Me and maria stayed in a Vango Banshee 200. We slept comfortably in that, even though it was small. £75-80 i think, pack length is under 50 cm, it fits right in my topbox

They said it couldnt be done, we defied them

Anyway, takes about 5 mins to put up, its waterproof and stable. Won't blow away in the wind....eh phil and kate

Yup the vango banshee is a good tent, would consider one of those for walking, but not enough porch space for putting damp biking gear in!

Also the quick-pitch ones are IMO a bad idea since they tend to have a packed-shape like a pancake, which is a bit hard to stick on a bike.
