Correct!

Also, try Super Anti Spyware!

Sounds cheesy, but i found it recently and it REALLY works!!

(always helps to run 2 or more progs to be sure. Adawre, SAS, and Spybot are good).

DONT use a security suite, they are pants. A decent anti-virys and regular router with a firewall built in will protect you enough (IMHO).

Back when I last had a PC (converted to mac about 5 years ago) I used AVG free, no wireless encryption (if someone joins the network you can play with their computer and teach them a lesson), the router had a firewall built in and run adaware maybe every other week or so. Also used firefox or similar and only downloaded through bittorrent, not through any kazaa etc type software.

Or.. you could get a version of OSX (10.5) and install that on your PC, make a windows partition and mainly use the mac one.

I just installed 10.5 on my system and it's beautiful. If I want, I can run windows too, but i tend to do it through parallel desktops to run planescape torment.

I run this from time to time to check what is loading when the PC boots and then stop all programs that it is not really necessary for the PC to load when it starts
