I've done racing ... no real interest in racing any more (been there done that, got the t-shirt and scars) ... but you are right, I don't even find trackdays that much fun any more ... I am more interested in getting some footage than I am the riding itself ..

Dunno really, just since leaving my old job, I have no cause to ride my roadbike any more (I used to commute on it every day - and that was the only thing I used it for) so get no daily exposure ... its easy to forget about when it isn't in your face every day ...

I've had loads of classic bikes in the past (all jap - and I used to ride the t1ts off them, so its not like I wouldn't another!! - in fact the carper the bike the harder I ride it!! ) ... bit of an interest in getting a brit-bike, but I can't see myself ever riding it much after the initial play ... so again it just seems a bit of a waste/liability ... same as a 1098 ...

This happened to me a while ago. I lost interest in it, busy at work, stress of organising the AR I just lost the will to ride it.

The AR rekindled my love for riding again. I spent most of the day TEC and I really enjoyed just stopping for a few minutes and then riding along all by myself at the back and nailing it through some of my favourite sequence of roads and riding along by myself really. Its weird I cant explain it.

Maybe take a break from it blue and then come back to it when you feel ready to. No poin tputting pressure on yourself to do something if you're not enjoying it anymore.

Where I am not really using it, I have been thinking about selling my roadbike ... but I can't bring myself to do it (yet) ...

Now I don't do any miles on it, thought about buying some sports pads and some sticky rubber for it, basically convert it into a leisure bike ... but the chepo pads* and miss-match tyres are good enough for frolicking really ...

*might change them actually, I think they are almost bordering on dangerous when the speed builds up and you need some drastic/rapid braking, they are so 'wooden' and lacking in outright power!!

Indeed, was thinking of taking a break ... but my fear is I may never return ...

Bearing in mind I've been into/riding bikes for over 2 decades (~2/3 my life), that's a strange thought ...

I have ridden a supermoto - yes - have I tired supermotoing (SM track) - no ... it doesn't really wave my flag ...

I like offroad/mx and I like road/track ... a SM is neither one nor t-other in my mind!! ...

its a bit like I have no interest in trikes ... its not a car or a bike ... you don't get the full benefit of either and you get saddled with the worst points of both ... so what's the point!?!?

Take a break my friend.

I used to be a climbing instructor, I worked in a climbing wall, I taught climbing every day and on my day off I went climbing. I did that for five years, Christmas was spent on mountains, Summer was spent on mountains, every day I lived an breathed climbing, until I burned out.

I just gave it up. I got fed up with it so I stopped for a while. I told my friends I had stopped climbing, I told every one I had stopped climbing.

I was out climbing two weeks later and I still go out every now and again, but I will never be at that level again.

I still get bored quite quickly though at the crag, it has to feel right or I get nothing from it. So now I only climb when I am really in the mood.
